Maori horticultural activities offer students an educational resource on matauranga taiao – the scientific knowledge of Maori food gathering such as the planting and harvesting of crops including hunting and gathering of other important food resources e.g. eel and other fin fish, birds, berries, kiore rat, and aruhe. This can also be used as a curriculum tool ie with Kids Edible Gardens and other school initiatives e.g. Research Topics. (e.g. making snares for birds)

A planning tool that lists all agencies involved with Physical Activity and Nutrition Education in schools. Schools receive a large A2 poster for their walls and small A4 posters can be downloaded for use in planning by each teacher. Tick off each of the planning points as you achieve them and use this website and its links to provide the support and contacts you need.
