and is also the new Community Dietitian working from Kimi Hauora
Wairau, Marlborough Primary Health Organisation. Her sporting and
nutritional backgrounds provide a balance in her recreational and

We are a team of three Health Promoters who promote early access to health services, and promotion of programmes to support the best start in life for children. Our role involves working with, and establishing sustainable relationships with other health, education and social organisations. Essentially we're about the whole whanau. Puawhai Kohanga Reo welcome new mokopuna (preschoolers) into their
care. Using the Mokopuna Oral Health Roll, the staff
can identify at a glance if tamariki are enrolled into the oral
health service or not. 
The new playground at the Children's Ward
in Wairau Hospital is certainly a unique 
WOW! Harakeke Early Learning Centre has
recently achieved the top-level of recognition for undertaking the Healthy
Heart Award: Pa-Harakeke.

resounding NO! Sugar at that level can cause weight gain and tooth

After hearing a presentation on how to
implement a toothbrushing programme within early childhood centres, Jodie
Thomas of PORSE realised how easy it would be to include toothbrushing in
their programmes.
