Pollard Park Potager

The first potager garden in Pollard Park  appeared in 1994, and now a new expanded model is being designed and planted by the Marlborough District Council.

Project leader Rachael Hutchison is really excited about the new garden and how it links to the other gardens of Pollard Park.

"The garden is designed to be a similar size to your general back-yard vegetable garden," Rachel says.  Read More

Newsletter #26
November, 2010

Here's Helen...

With the weather warming up and summer evenings on the way, it's time to swap those heavy winter meals for light, easy to prepare salads.  Why not even try growing your own salad greens?  A $3 packet of lettuce seeds will provide nearly enough lettuce for a family of four for the entire summer.

Get inspired with Trolley Tips recipes to eat seasonal foods that grow in abundance and are easy of the wallet (see story in this newsletter).  This is a great resource to share with your family, friends and clients, especially as the financial pressure experienced by many at this time of year can make it even more difficult to keep the shopping cart full of healthy options.

Big congratulations to the organisers of the Nelson Cycle Festival.  This week-long cycling extravaganza showcased all that the region has to offer and catered for all shapes, sizes and cycling abilities.  It was especially pleasing to see all the cyclists at the 'Go By Bike' breakfasts.  What better way to start the day than a cycle to school or work?

Until next time, Helen
