Newsletter #30 April, 2011
Here's
Helen...

Welcome
to our April Edition of Healthy Living.
I hope
you've adjusted to the end of daylight saving with the cooler mornings and
evenings. Now you're possibly thinking about Easter and looking
forward to the two extra days holiday this month.
Easter is
a great time to get the family together to do something physical before
the winter sets in and the days get shorter. Perhaps take a walk
together around a park, along the beach or try out one of the many walking
tracks in the region. Keep the kids busy in the holidays with a game
of beach cricket during the middle of the day when it's warmest. Or
have a game of hopscotch or noughts & crosses when the tide is
low.
Speaking
of colder days and kids... check out our competition in the community
newspapers this month to win Claire Gourley's recipe book Who's
Cooking Tonight? Claire has written the book from a teen's
perspective with simple nutritious recipes, hints about food labelling and
tips about cooking. What better way to get your teens into the
kitchen to help out?
We have a
great review of Claire's book in this newsletter by twelve year-old Sara
Gane, who cooked up a storm (she made the butter chicken) much to the
delight of her family!
Until
next time, Helen
