Now We're Cooking Marlburians now have support to develop their cooking skills thanks to the innovative Get Cooking programme. Like the name suggests, Get cooking is about providing the tools and education to enable people to get into the kitchen and be confident to cook a meal for themselves, family &/or friends. click here for full story Feeding Nelson Bill Sayer believes Nelson can grow all the fruit it needs. “It only requires 4 fruit trees to be planted per person” says Bill. “There is plenty of scope for more fruit trees to be planted in both private gardens and Council reserves.” Options are to propagate cuttings and seedlings on a large scale” Bill believes Nelson needs to plant fruit trees and plan urban food production now. click here for full story

Low cost recreation programmes are running in Awatere, Havelock, Renwick and Picton with each Hub offering a range of options and activities designed to meet the needs of its community. Helen Having spent the past few weeks in
In Everyone rides bikes for work, for pleasure and for
exercise. I lost track of the number of bikes I saw with one, if not two
or three children’s seats attached and was impressed with the cart-bikes
which are used to transport children, shopping and even
furniture. A stopover in
In New Zealand we are so fortunate to have wide open, clean
and green spaces in which to spend our recreation time. With that in
mind and now that winter is here, don’t forget to get out on your bikes
or lace up your sneakers and head out for a
