Healthy Communities
Newsletter #34
September / October, 2011

October Thoughts...
October already!  That can only mean one thing.... longer days, warmer weather, tee-shirts, jandals, barbecues and salads are on their way.... bring it on!

We're all tired of winter weather - although here in Te Tau Ihu we have been luckier than most with just a few grey days, occasional drops of rain and the odd puff of wind - unlike those of you affected by record snowfalls, flooding, tornadoes etc (You have our sympathies for not living in the greatest region in Aotearoa).

Welcome to our new loook newsletter.  We have adopted a broader health focus for this and future newsletters and look forward to bringing you stories and items of interest from throughout the public health service.  We aim to have something for everyone so hope you enjoy the new broad focus as much as we enjoying bringing it to you.

We're all very excited to bring you updates on information relevant to your particular areas of interest.  If there is anything in particular you'd like to see featured, please don't hesitate to contact us.  Perhaps you have an event coming up that you'd like brought to the attention of our readers and / or reported on?

Enjoy this month's feature recipe: Ten Minute Bread .... it's fast, it's easy, it tastes fantastic and anyone can bake it.... the kids might even enjoy being involved so they can show off their sandwiches to school mates at lunchtime.

'til next time...
